You asked and we responded! Crazy K Farm has developed a supportive, ultra-comfortable crop bra/chest protector.
Chickens and other birds often suffer from crop issues such crop stasis/slow crop (in which the crop empties very slowly) or pendulous crop (in which the crop has been stretched). Any crop problem that requires a bird's crop to be supported can be helped by the Birdy Bra.
Our patented Birdy Bra not only supports a slow or pendulous crop, but can protect a bird's chest, which is a common location of pecking of hens by other hens. Once blood is drawn the pecking can escalate, resulting in infection and even death. Our Birdy Bra can also be used on parrots that self mutilate.
The Birdy Bra is available in a variety of sizes for all types and ages of bird and in four colors.
For pluckers, we have a faux lamb's wool sherpa panel to occupy your bird and provide added protection.

My dear little bantam Bertha has had life-threatening sour crop twice which has resulted in her having a very large, pendulous crop. This wonderful Birdy Bra has truly been her life saver. It's stretchability never leaves sore or worn areas and the thickness is perfect for support without stiffness. I place the knots up on her back between her wings and soon they nestle into her feathers a bit. Bertha is now a normal, happy little hen thanks to her BB. She has worn it for over a year, with just a few days without it every now and then until her crop begins to enlarge. I am only now ordering a replacement. It is a simplistic, well thought out design that works splendidly. Thank you for saving her dear little life!

My year old cuckoo maran hen developed a severely pendulous crop. Before I realized the gravity of the situation, it became life threatening. Medication and purging the crop helped, as did a meal of night time "spikes" (maggots from the local bait shop), but she was near death by the time the birdy bra arrived, and I put it on despite a next day appointment for euthanasia. Within hours she was improved, and within days she was back to normal. Nothing short of miraculous. I tried many attempts at homemade supports, but they did not stay on. This is highly recommended at the first sign of crop trouble. I will be ordering another, so that I have a spare, and I will be sharing this website with my avian vet. Thank you!

Matilda has suffered with bouts of sour crop and her crop is saggy. It never empties fully and feels watery and swings as she runs, looking uncomfortable. I bought the bra a few months ago, but after trying it on her it went in a drawer, until this week. My sister, who has hens, saw Matilda at the weekend and pointed out to me how saggy her crop had become. On went the bra! Her crop no longer swings as she runs. It feels firmer, although it is still large. Her food must be digesting easier as her droppings have changed from being watery to firm and easy to clean up :-). I've just placed an order for a second bra. One on and one in the wash! The only awkward thing I have found about the support is the way it knots. The knots are quite bulky but do seem to sit under Matilda's wing where they are not too visible.
